Privacy Policy — Pinterest Integration

This Privacy Policy explains how MakeBox AI("we", "us", "our") accesses, uses, and safeguards information obtained through the Pinterest API when you connect your Pinterest account to MakeBox AI. It applies specifically to the Pinterest Integration and complements our site-wide policy.

What the integration does. MakeBox AI lets you create and schedule Pins to your own Pinterest boards from product listings and images you already own (for example, your Etsy shop listings). We act only on your behalf, only after you explicitly authorize us, and only with your own Pinterest account.

1. Authorization (how access is granted)

  • You connect Pinterest through Pinterest's official OAuth 2.0 flow. We never ask for or receive your Pinterest password.
  • You choose which permissions (scopes) to grant. We request only the scopes needed to create Pins/boards and read the analytics of Pins we created for you.
  • You can revoke access at any time — from your MakeBox AI account or from Pinterest's own "Apps" settings. Revoking immediately stops all access.

2. What we access via Pinterest

  • Access token & account/board identifiers — the OAuth token and the IDs of your account and boards, so we can publish Pins where you tell us to.
  • Pins we create for you — the Pins/boards we publish on your behalf, and the campaign/Pin analytics for those Pins so you can see performance.
  • Content you bring — the images, titles, descriptions, and links from your own listings that you choose to turn into Pins. This content originates from you, not from Pinterest.

3. What we do NOT do with Pinterest data

  • We do not cache or store data pulled from the Pinterest API beyond what Pinterest permits (we call the API each time we need information; the only Pinterest data we retain is campaign/Pin analytics for the Pins we created for you).
  • We do not sell, rent, or share Pinterest data with any third party.
  • We do not use Pinterest data to target advertising outside Pinterest.
  • We do not combine one user's Pinterest data with another's, or across unrelated services.
  • We do not access boards, Pins, or accounts you have not authorized.

4. How we use the data

  • Publish and schedule the Pins you ask us to create, to the boards you select.
  • Show you the performance (analytics) of the Pins we created for you.
  • Authenticate your requests against your active MakeBox AI subscription.

We use the data solely to provide the service to you — nothing else.

5. Where data is stored & security

  • Your Pinterest access token is stored encrypted at rest, isolated per account (row-level security), and used only server-side to call the Pinterest API.
  • API credentials and secrets are kept private and never exposed to the browser or other users.
  • Data is hosted on our managed cloud infrastructure (Supabase / Hetzner, EU/US regions).

6. Third parties

  • Pinterest— we interact with your own Pinterest account through the official Pinterest API, under Pinterest's Developer Guidelines and Terms.
  • Stripe — handles subscription billing; card details never pass through the Pinterest integration.

7. Data retention & deletion

  • Disconnect Pinterest → we delete your stored access token and stop all API access immediately.
  • Delete your MakeBox AI account → we remove associated Pinterest tokens and analytics within 30 days.
  • You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any data we hold (GDPR / CCPA). Behavioral-ad opt-out is available via AdChoices.

8. Children

The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. The "Effective date" reflects the most recent change; material changes will be communicated in-app where possible.
